What better way to spend the holidays than visiting Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours? Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours is located in Ochopee, Florida and has multiple tours, shows and parks available for the family to enjoy!

Grassland Airboat Tour:

Experience 259 acres of grasslands and indulge yourself in nature through the Everglades Grassland during Wooten’s Grasslands Airboat Tour. The tour through the private grasslands will be lead by captains who know the area well. They will be taking you and your family on an adventure to learn about animals, plants and some history about the grasslands. There are plenty of wildlife during the tour that the children are the most excited to see; if you are lucky, an alligator has been known to show up every now and again during the airboat ride. This tour is perfect for our younger children present because of its short but sweet ride. Each ride is 30-35 minutes and no reservation is required.  There are even special online offers for you and the family.

Private Airboat Tour:

With the Private Airboat Tour, reservations are required just a day in advanced and goes for about 45-60 minutes, great for children of all ages and bigger parties. Reservations can be made online and there are coupons for private tours as well.

Swamp Buggy Tour:

Wooten’s swamp buggy takes you throughout the ecosystems the airboats don’t explore! Lasting about 30 minutes each ride, the swamp buggy tour seats up to 20 people, perfect for a day out and about with the kids. It goes through the dry land showing you some animals and plants you might have missed on the airboat. One aspect of the swamp buggy tour that the children and adults think is cool is the Native American campsite and burial ground you get to see while on. Just in time to see some wildlife, during November-April, wild manatees can be found in Manatee Pond.

Live Alligator Show:

How many parents have heard their children mutter, “I’m bored” at least once during the weekend? Well, during Wooten’s Live Alligator Show, they will be having too much fun to even think about if they’re bored or not! Our professional alligator handlers will deliver a show you and your children will be amazed by. Being able to see wild animals up close and personal is beneficial to children of all ages. It’s educational and something that isn’t done on a day-to-day basis. Everyone will also get to hug and hold an alligator with the help of our professionals, how exciting. I know an experience like this is one an amazing memory to have when growing up. The live show lasts from 15-30 minutes and are safe for everyone.

  • Hours: The sanctuary and park are open 365 days a year between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Live alligator shows start every hour between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Live Alligator Shows are a free bonus included with admission to the Animal Sanctuary and Alligator Park

Animal Sanctuary and Alligator Park:

The Animal Sanctuary and Alligator Park is home to various types of wildlife you may not be able to see during a swamp buggy tour or the airboat tour. This sanctuary and park is home to animals like a Florida panther, tigers, a lion, otters, turtles, native and non-native snakes, crocodiles, more than 100 alligators, from little and big, a bobcat and more! It’s more intimate than a zoo for a guaranteed memorable and personal visit.

Everglades Kayak Adventures:

Everglades Kayak Adventures offers amazing views of wildlife and nature as you glide through different tunnels and explore multiple ponds. The tour is led by a National Park Service trained naturalist who will educate you and your children about the different spots you would have never noticed before. Every tour lasts from 3-4 hours. Each tour includes a canoe or kayak, floatation device, paddling orientation, snack, water, transportation and 2-3 of paddling time. The kids would really appreciate this unique experience on a peaceful weekend morning.

Kids must be of 7 years or older in order to participate. Groups are smaller from 2-11 people per group. Sunscreen, hat, glasses, bug spray and gym shoes are highly recommended!
